I know this is weird, but upon moving to Austin, one of the first places my parents and I went was Hippie Hollow, a popular nudist spot on Lake Travis. Nobody in my family is a nudist, but this park really is a family-friendly, natural gym suitable for hiking and biking.
Hippie Hollow isn’t Austin’s only “clothing optional” park, but it stands far from the typical topless scene like Barton Springs where seeing a pair of bosoms is rare. This section of Lake Travis allows 100 percent nude men and women to sunbathe and swim freely in the lake, and most people take advantage. A day-permit is only $8, and you will find this Mediterranean-style park off FM 2222 and RR 620.
