Wine and Dine

So I am crossing over into Vanessa territory, but I couldn’t pass this up. Texas Hill Country Wineries are pretty cool, and we (living in Austin) are pretty fortunate to have so many so close. I got into wine because my Mom’s “new thing” was to visit all the wineries on the Texas Hill Country Tour, and this past summer I did 6 wineries in one day with her! I know what you are thinking, but it is only wine TASTING and it is not enough to get you where you can’t drive.

Not only do I feel a little bit more “cultured,” but I also know what wine I actually like to drink at restaurants. My advice: these wineries are great day trips and can be a good spot for a date or somewhere to take your parents for something different. If you go towards Fredericksburg, you can even visit Luckenbach!

Visit here for a map of the beautiful wineries http://www.texaswinetrail.com/map.html.

My Family Wine Tasting!

Zilker semi-decent park

Zilker Park is only a decent park during this time of year. The grass isn’t completely matted down, it’s green, and it’s now miserably hot. I went jogging (or yogging?) and I can say that I actually enjoyed myself. The parking was horrendous and the crowd made jogging more of an obstacle course, but the atmosphere was charged. Anyway, check it out while you can. Once the heat kicks in, that place turns into hell.
